WRDS
Wharton Research Data Services is a platform providing access to a range of databases containing financial and economic data.
Currently, the following databases are licensed for the University of Vienna on the WRDS platform:

IvyDB US by OptionMetricsModul is include in WRDS. The add-on module “Historical IvyDB GI: North American Options Database Service with annual updates” is not available via Wharton Research Data Services and is therefore licensed separately via internet/FTP access. - Bureau van Dijk (Moody's): https://wrds-www.wharton.upenn.edu/pages/about/data-vendors/bureau-van-dijk-bvd/ (Produkte: Orbis - a tool used to verify a company exists and to source company reports und Moody's Analytics Bankfocus - comprehensive, portfolio-level view of a bank’s group exposure)

In addition, the WRDS license includes several further datasets, such as:
- OTC (comprehensive, timely, and accurate data on securities traded on the OTCQX, OTCQB, and OTC Pink marketplaces),
- TRACE (Trade Reporting and Compliance Engine — FINRA’s over-the-counter (OTC) corporate bond market real-time price dissemination service),
- and additional datasets available under the WRDS agreement.
LSEG Datastream will continue to be accessed through the current subscription model until September 2026. From October 2026 onward, Datastream will be provided via Wharton Research Data Services (product: Datastream — global macroeconomic data to obtain a comprehensive macro-level perspective).

- Enrolled (degree-seeking) students of the University of Vienna

- Individuals who are neither employees nor enrolled (degree-seeking) students of the University of Vienna
- Alumni
- Research collaborators from other institutions, including co-authors

How to register
- Visit the WRDS website and select “Register.” Use your institutional email address.
- Select your institution from the list. (University of Vienna)
- Submit the registration request (approval may require manual verification).
- Once your affiliation has been confirmed, you will receive an activation email and can log in to the WRDS platform.
Additional option: Access Pass
One-day access without creating a personal account; available exclusively to members of the University of Vienna. Login via u:access and a University of Vienna email address is required.
